I've been wearing out my Vasque boots & shoes for years and have found most of them excellent. The Talus XT GTX is the best ankle-high Vasque boot I've bought. It's more expensive than its predecessor and it's considerably better. Overall it's a more robust boot that provides lots of foot support. A small but extremely welcome improvement is having three pairs of hooks for laces compared to the predecessor's two pairs. This makes the lacing noticeably more secure and provides better ankle support. It's also easier to get your foot in and out. I've had the boot for about a month, not very long, but I've walked well over 100 miles in it and it has behaved perfectly. The fit was good and the boots are very nice quality. I could not keep the boots, though. Because the upper portion of the boots are pretty flexible, they form a crease when the boot is flexed. The crease presses on the base of my arthritic big toe and causes a bit of discomfort. These are great boots - lightweight (for leather), good support, and nice grip on rocks. I only have about 25 miles or so on these boots, but so far, they are off to a very good start! The boots fit as expected. I plan to use them for hiking and light weight backpacking. They were well made but just wasn’t the right fit in the toe areatook about a week to break in, but i got them for my job in Bryce Canyon. i had a similar pair of boots, but got these cause of the vibram sole. sturdy and nice, but cant lace them up all the way cause it hurts mys shin. like them a lot though regardlessThese are the most comfortable boots if you are on your feet all day. Love them!Fit as expected with my hiking socks on. High comfort level. The shoe ran large. It definitely didn't seem like a medium width. I could have ordered a 1/2 size down. Also, the to area was very wide. The fit was more like a wide.
