Took a few wears to wear them in but I love them and are so comfortable. Also hold up well and definitely waterproofI needed to replace my Vasque St. Elias GTX hiking boots and decided to try the Vasque Talus XT GTX since I was familiar with the Talus fit. The Talus models seem to fit my needs both in hiking boots and shoes.These are a heavier boot mainly for backpacking and rugged terrain. Approximately 3 months of breaking them in, I was ready to hike at the Niagara Gorge. They proved to be sturdy (no overpronating), and yet flexible enough to handle the stairs at the Gorge. I happen to notice that the metal eyelets were starting to dig into the front of my ankles, causing bruising, now that they had become more flexible. I added 1” thick soft foam to the inside of the ankle front to soften the area between the boot and my ankles. This seems to be working. I’m surprised there isn’t more soft padding on the inside and top of the tongue, and all around the ankle support for such an expensive boot.Overall, I find these boots sturdy with great traction, and performance unmatched. These will definitely last a long time! As for size, I ordered a size 7, which are quite roomy, especially in the toe box area. I normally take a size 7 or 7.5 in Vasque boots and shoes. These might run a little large compared to the Vasque 7387 Talus AT UltraDry Mid Hiking Boot.A bit pricey but worth it if you backpack or hike daily. It took a few to break them in but now they are perfect! I had KEENs previously but the rubber toe was heavy and caught on everything . I don’t feel these are as heavy. Nice ankle support and comfy even with a thick wool so ok. Water proof and good gripping as well. I’m going to buy a second pair to have in case these go out of stock.I love these boots, but wish I could get another pair of shoelaces. I was trying them on and the shoelace caught on one of the hooks and is now slightly ripped.I am very pleased with my Vasque hiking boots. This is my second pair of this brand, but first of this particular model. I have narrow feet and weak ankles and spend a lot of time on my feet on our farm and frequently lift 50 pounds or more so a good supportive shoe is important. This brand fits my foot well and provides the needed support. This style is a little heavier that my previous pair but they don’t tire me. Great pair of boots!Love these boots! I bought a size seven and they fit very well! I have not worn them hiking yet, but they are comfortable and don’t appear to roll easily (having flat feet, this is a concern). I love the more neutral color and lacing as well—it goes well with a lot of different pants or outfits. The material feels and looks high end. I will primarily use them for police off-duty work/training and they will go well with tactical work too. Quality buy!Just got these boots this week and have taken them on two hikes and through the mud. These are comfortable and 100% waterproof. My feet were warm and dry the whole time. I’ve been going back and forth with waterproof boots for the past few months and I’m very glad I got these!Very comfortable for long hikes. Everything I expected!
