Bought these hoping they would become my new summer go-to for hiking/backpacking shoes. Used them exclusively for two recent 30 mile backpacking trips. One trip was through the Arizona desert and the other was on the Ozark Trail in Missouri. Trail in Arizona was dry, smooth, and sandy and the shoes were quite comfortable and my feet stayed dry and well-ventilated. The trail in Missouri was rocky and rugged and there were a number of required creek crossings and the shoes definitely showed their limitations. My feet were definitely sore after only a few miles of the rugged terrain but the shoes did drain well and dry quickly.Since then I've been wearing them around the house as my new summer "sandals" and they seem to serve that function quite well. They are comfortable to wear without socks with the added benefit over regular sandals of keeping twigs and pebbles out from under foot.Giving them 4 out of 5 because they aren't quite sport sandals but don't really work as hiking shoes either-- and for $100+ I would expect the shoes to be perfect as either one or the other.I will update this review as experience dictates.Fly fishing...I bought these to wet wade area mountain trout streams. Overall quality is good, fit & function is good. BUT traction is not good at all on stream rocks. Ended up popping my knee out of joint & breaking a fly rod. Going to try studs in them.Great pair of shoes . Size was just right i wear a size 9 and had just the right amount of room in the toe pocket left for some more when hiking or just walking around. Has deep treads for loose ground. Wore them at the beach and had great traction in the sand or on slippery rocks. Really please with them so far.A little narrowI bought these shoes to hike the Narrows in Zion National Park and I couldn't have been happier with their performance. They were comfortable in the water and seemed to drain quickly. They were light in the water and on dry ground. The traction on the sole was perfect for hiking over boulders in the water. I highly recommend this shoe for water hiking.loved this shoe. bought to use for crossing creeks and streams when hiking but also can wear it for basic hiking as well, very comfortable. The description states, "Bungee lacing system allows for quick-and-easy adjustments on the go." this is 100% inaccurate. Shoe comes with regular laces. II emailed the company twice and never received a response. For over $70 these shoes are not worth the price. They would be a decent warm weather hiking shoe, but what makes them warm weather is lesser quality, thinner or porous materials. They take a very long time to dry. Camping in a foggy climate, these shoes will not dry overnight. They have large deep treds for traction in the mud, but on we rocks, footing is unstable. For an everyday adventure shoe they are not comfortable. For walking on pavement the large treds are very counterproductive and make for an awkward stride. I am keeping the shoe, but now know the limitation of this overpriced, not universal product.Love these - great quality durability can’t say enough - worth the money - we hike, bike, portage, and basically beat these things up - very durableI bought these for an upcoming canyoning trip, though I'll also be using them for general hiking as I like an airy shoe. The shoes appear very sturdy and well-made. I'm particularly pleased with the snug but not tight glove-like fit and the sturdy toe protection. The grip looks excellent for wet or muddy conditions, but perhaps wouldn't be well-suited to roads or other hard surfaces. The fit of this design is perfect for me. In formal shoes I wear a 12 wide, but in trainers and so on I have to buy a 13 for the width, as I did here, though even then a lot of designs are still not wide enough, or they're too long. These fit me perfectly, the width is spot-on but the length is not excessive. I maybe wouldn't recommend this design if you have long, narrow feet though, they're better suited to wider feet.Only good for running through rivers. The pics don’t show how open the mesh is. These are not suitable for general wear. Likely very good for running through rivers. Good quality but...Swapped for different merrellsVery light and because of its mesh design is relatively cool. It has holes in the sides of the sole and holes in the instep inside. This is so that water can drain out of the trainer quickly. As I never bought them to wade through streams or rivers this has not been tested but I imagine they would dry out fairly quickly. They are designed like a slip on shoe but with laces so I found them awkward to put on at first, there is no tongue as such. Once on they are comfy great to wear in this warmer weather would not like to be wearing them when it gets cold.grippy and airy, ideal for summer trailwalking/runningVery light , I use them for work . No sweaty feet great
