I wear a 7.5-8 in tennis shoes, size 7 in normal chaco sandals. Read reviews how these run narrow, but ordered a 7 to try them out. The chaco 7 length fits true to size. They do run narrow, wore a bloody blister into my right pinky toe the first time I wore them. But after three days of wearing them the width has stretched out a little. I currently can only fit thin socks in there, but the leather keeps the cold out. There is a little arch in them which is nice!Good grip on the bottom, full leather uppers will last forever! I sprayed it with leather weather protection spray to help it last longer in these wet conditions.Good quality, cute winter boot!Fairly comfortable boots that do a good job keeping out water. I sized up to a 7 from 6.5 because the 7s were on sale and they’re a little big, like most Chaco shoes. I’ve been wearing them as winter boots with thick socks and they work well in a shallow snow. Cute duck-boot like appearance; the tongue bunches up a little weird. I’m not sure how they’d do in really hot weather, but they’d probably make good travel boots in a no-covid future.I LOVE everything about these other than the fact that they run big. I wear a size 7 (with socks) and these fit more like a 7.5. It's hard to gauge the right size since I wear thick smart wool socks while hiking but thinner cotton socks on a day to day basis but even with smart wool socks I had a lot of room in the toe area and width of the foot. I will be returning them for a slightly smaller size. One of the boots creases around the seam area which rubs my foot a little (the other one creases in the toe area when I step and doesn't bother me at all) but I expect that to go away after being broken in. They are the perfect blend of style and function and I love the vintage orange laces. These boots seem to be well made and have good arch support. The tongue is nicely finished and lies flat without bulk when the boots are tied. So why only 3 stars? The fit is just odd. They're very long - stretching at least an inch and a half past my toes. The width is slightly narrow across the ball of my foot. But the worst part is the depth of the forefoot area - they're extremely flat. I don't have high arches, but my feet are pressing onto the top of the shoe. This flatness combined with the length of the boot make my feet look like cartoon feet. Or flippers. The boots I received just don't seem to be proportioned like those pictured. It almost looks like the toe of the shoe was lengthened to increase the size while the rest was left unchanged. Maybe the smaller sizes (I wear a 9) are less oddly proportioned. I was really hoping for a boot that would be sturdy and comfortable enough for moderate hiking but still cute enough to wear into town after the hike. I'm still looking. These bb’s are da bomb! I originally bought the Chaco fields and returned them because they were too stiff and heavy. These guys are so comfy and easy to wear. I normally wear an 8-8.5 and bought an 8. I wear them with the kids smart wool socks (half the price as the women’s!) which are thicker than the average sock but not too heavy. I was nervous at first because they felt tight around the seams where the lighter and darker fabrics meet around the top of the foot but I wore them around running errands for about 4 hours and by the end my feet had adjusted or the boots had stretched. Either way, they’ve been the easiest hiking boots to break in. I also got a lot of compliments on them. Luckily, it was cold and rainy so I didn’t look out of place running around town with them on. Can’t wait to test them out on the mountains! Was concerned because I have tried 4 brands of boots in the last few weeks. They were all too short even though they were sized 1/2 or a full size larger than my good shoes and sandals. These are long enough and the same size as my Tevas and Chacos. This long narrow footed woman is elated! They are definitely a medium width so I can wear heavier socks. Don't size up from your sandals like I must always do. Thanks Chacos for making closed toe boots that are sized the same as your other shoes!I wanted some sturdy winter boots and these make the grade. The color is more black than denim which is great for me. There are some dark denim accents but still the boot is primarily black. I haven worn them outside yet so I am not sure about the long term comfort however the walk around the house was very comfortable.I purchased these boots to wear on a four-day trip around New York City. I got them the day before I left, wore them around the house, and then proceeded to walk 6 to 10 miles a day in them all around NYC. They were amazing. My feet never hurt! I chose my size based off of what I wore in Chaco sandals. It was a perfect fit. Comfortably snug in thick socks and comfortably loose in thin socks. I cannot sing their praises enough!
